In the Classroom
Classroom volunteers are a valuable resource for your child’s teacher. To be able to volunteer in the classroom you must first be cleared by the district.
Classroom volunteers must meet the requirement set down by Burbank Unified School District.
A volunteer must have tested and be free of active tubercolsis within the past 60 days. A Mantoux skin test may be obtained from your private physician, a Burbank Unified School District Nurse or a community health centre.
In addition classroom volunteers must complete a:
- Volunteer Application Waiver Form
- Emergency Information Form
- Medical Provider Network Acknowledgment
A legible copy of a California Drivers License or California Identification Card is also required.
Forms for classroom volunteers are available from the office and will be available online soon!
Working parents can still support their child’s teacher and class by taking work home, volunteers may be asked to prepare craft material for school, photocopy etc..
The Room Rep for your child’s class will also approach parents for support when needed, usually this will be for a specific event such as volunteers for a class excursion.
If you are interested in volunteering please speak with your child’s teacher or your Room Representative.
