One For Books! A $1 donation can make such a difference!
At Stevenson Elementary we believe that our library is the heart of our school, a well stocked library is an invaluable resource for both teachers and students alike. So lets make it our goal to get more books into our library by supporting the “One for Books” initiative.
All the money collected goes directly to purchasing more books for our school.
Scholastic matches the monetary donations schools generate, with a donation of up to one million books to three national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping kids and families in need: Kids in Distressed Situations Inc., National Center for Family Literacy, and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
This really is an amazing initiative. Not only does your donation help your child’s school but you are also lending your support to some very worthy organizations.
Look for more details in the “One for Books” flyer coming home with your child soon! We will be asking for donations of $1.00 We ask that the donation be returned with a signed “One for Books” donation slips. All the slips will be displayed in the library, during the book fair so that we can acknowledge all our “One for Books” supporters.
Stevenson Elementary relies on the continued support of our amazing families and local community. With your help One for Books 2010 is sure to be a great success.
