Green Week: February 1st – February 5th

Take up our Green Week challenge and become a Green Stevenson Pirate!

Monday “Makin’ It Green Monday”

• The Challenge: Reduce lunch waste for a week at school
  • Bring reusable lunch containers
  • Save uneaten food and bring home
  • Second Challenge: Can you be a Green Pirate for a week

Tuesday “Talkin’ Trash Tuesday”

• The Challenge: Can you separate good trash from bad trash?
  • Set up a recycling center in your home. Different bins of glass, paper, plastic, and aluminum.
  • Set up a composter for your good trash.
  • Know the difference between good trash and bad trash.

Wednesday “Walkin’ Wednesday”

• The Challenge: How much energy can you save in your home?
  • Walk to school today
  • Turn off lights when you leave a room
  • Turn TV off
  • Instead of watching TV, play a board game, read a good book, take a walk

Thursday “Turnin’ Off Thursday”

• The Challenge: How much water can you conserve today?
  • Take a 3 minute shower
  • Turn off water when you are brushing your teeth

Friday “Reusin’ Friday”

• The Challenge: How many things can you recycle and reuse?
  • Donate, give, or trade your books, clothes, toys, CDs, game, etc.
  • Reuse the other side of paper for coloring or notes
