HALLOWEEN IS A HAPPY TIME
By Frankie Coscia
Halloween is a happy time where kids get treats and tricks.
There are ghouls and ghosts jack-o-lanterns and maybe even jackilops.
We kids get spook and scares.
Mythical creatures and magical creatures come out and play on the 31st.
Maybe some butterfingers and even some fingers.
There are witches and werewolfs all around town so be careful on Halloween night.
MY BIRD
By Naomi Griffin
This is my bird who got breast cancer. It takes a year to be free of cancer and that is what she did after she went back home. She came to say “hi” to her family and then they went on a field trip together to be free. Then she had to say “goodbye” because she had to go back for another twenty four hours. She came back the very next day and she was all better, healed forever.
* this story was accompanied by a beautiful picture of Naomi’s bird.
Pirate gear is now available !!!
Ask yourself… Do you like the way cotton feels on your skin or the way a nice cap shades you from the sun? Well, if your answer is yes to either or both of them we have a solution for you – Pirate Gear! Yes, we have new Pirate Gear on board now… t-shirts, ringers, jersey shirts, hoodies, and caps (which the students will be allowed to wear to school here at Stevenson).
As you all know, Fridays are “Spirit Days” here at Stevenson and what better way to have them wear school colors then to purchase official Stevenson Pirate Gear! Keep your eyes out for Pirate Gear information and price sheets in your child’s folder or contact me directly if you want a form now.
Cool Gifts, Yummy Chocolates & Great Paper to Wrap Them In!
Order Forms and Money are due: Nov. 5th
Order Delivery will be Dec. 4th
On Wednesday, October 22nd, PTA kicked off our new Fall Fundraiser, just in time for the holidays! There are magazines, wrapping paper, candy, jewelry, and more. Family and friends can shop online at www.sigfund.com if they don’t live near by, or just for the convenience. Our school will make 50% on online orders and 45% profit on catalog orders. All orders must be turned in by Wednesday, November 5th so that we can receive delivery by Thursday, December 4th. The profits raised will go to the many educational projects and programs here at our school. It’s all about our kids!
By the way, there are many cool prizes for the kids who sell a good number of items, such as a ride in a Hummer limo to Chuck E. Cheese’s for selling just 20 items!
